Part Qualified Accountant

Cambridge Office

We are looking for a part qualified (ACA or ACCA) professional accountant to join our expanding team.

The role:

The role involves working with small to medium sized enterprises, often owner managed, across a variety of business sectors. The candidate will gain further training and experience in the delivery of our audit, accounting and taxation services. The role is one that would suit an individual seeking progression through structured support and continuous development. The role includes:

  • Preparation of financial statements under UK GAAP
  • Working as part of a team to successfully deliver audit assignments
  • Preparation of corporation tax returns and supporting computations
  • Furthering knowledge and experience of owner managed businesses across a wide variety of business sectors including client facing assignments
  • Involvement in other ad hoc projects as necessary 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience in undertaking accountancy assignments. Audit experience is preferable
  • Good understanding and experience in the preparation of Corporation tax computations
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to work as part of a team, yet also work using own initiative when required
  • Self-motivated with a desire to develop
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Skilled in the use of I.T. to efficiently complete tasks

Payroll Administrator

Lincoln Office

Key Purpose of the Job:

  • To process all aspects of payroll from start to finish including the payment of statutory allowances, the accurate payment of salaries for a range of clients and administering auto enrolment. Maintain positive client relationships

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing & administration of monthly & weekly payrolls, including management reporting & statutory filings including FPS, EPS, P45, Starter Declarations and End of Year Declarations and P60's 
  • Ensuring all statutory reporting is completed to the highest standards within legislated guidance and deadlines
  • Completion of the month and year end payroll processes
  • Liaison with client contacts to answer queries and ensure payroll is processed accurately
  • Any ad hoc projects as requested by the Senior Payroll Manager

Attributes:

  • Competent payroll administrator with experience of multiple payroll processing
  • Able to record keep and report accurately and in a timely manner
  • Completion or part-completion of the CIPP or AAT professional qualifications would be advantageous
  • Strong computer literacy in relevant software packages – Payroll software, Word and Excel (intermediate)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to cope with pressure and maintain a calm manner at all times

To be a senior member of the team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting function providing a high standard of professionalism along with quality of service to a varied client base. With a minimum of 4 years’ experience within practice and good working relationships with clients would be useful however of more importance to us is supervision and training of juniors. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake accounts preparation as part of their role.

We are looking to recruit a professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA) and/or experienced Audit and Accounts Manager for our Grantham & Newark office.

The successful candidate will be directly supporting the Audit Partners managing their teams and audit clients. Experience of the supervision and training of members of staff is essential as is a hand’s on approach to both client work and creating good working relationships with new and existing clients.

To be considered candidates should have the relevant Audit and Accounts technical experience (preferably at least 5 years post qualification practice experience) and competence. They should be ambitious and self motivated with the desire to develop their career and possess good interpersonal and communication skills, and be able prioritise their time and meet deadlines.
