Lincolnshire Environmental Awards 2022

The Award recognises and celebrates groups and communities within Greater Lincolnshire who encourage and protect the landscape and wildlife of the county.

We know that many community plans have been affected by coronavirus. That's why this year we're also taking applications for future environmental proposals. Entries are welcome from established or proposed community groups, allotment societies, youth groups, registered charities, social enterprises and more.

Does your community want to establish a new green space?
Are your volunteers wanting to create a new woodland for wildlife?
Does your eco community project need help getting off the ground?

Judging is carried out by an independent panel of experts in their field, selected for their impartiality and experience. The initial shortlisting is based on the information provided. Shortlisted entrants may then be visited by a judge. Finalists will be asked to make a presentation to the judges on Saturday 8 October at Whisby Nature Park in Lincoln.

Presentations will be followed by an Afternoon Tea where the winner and runners-up of the Lincolnshire Environmental Awards will be announced.

Conditions of entry

  • For the initial stage of the competition entries should be made via the entry form on the website
  • The application must be for a project that is not eligible for central or local government funding or other statutory funding.
  • £4,000 prize money is halved in two tranches, with the remainder given in March 2023 when good initial progress has been evidenced.
  • The two runners up will be awarded £500 each for their projects.
  • In all cases payment must be made to the community groups' own bank account. Payment will not be made to a personal account.
  • In all matters relating to the awards, the decision of the judges is final.
