Payroll Administrator & Processor and Bookkeeper

The Preston team offer a dynamic and supportive environment with a focus on client relationships. The team specialises in serving owner-managed businesses, family firms, and various sectors including manufacturing, property, and healthcare. They  prioritise professional development work and you’ll be working with experienced partners with excellent presence in the local area. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: 

               - Prepare and process accurate and timely payroll

               - Manage PAYE, NI, and RTI submissions

               - Generate and distribute payslips and employer reports

  • Auto Enrolment: 

               - Guide clients through auto enrolment requirements

               - Manage pension scheme setup and administration

               - Ensure compliance with pension regulations

  • Client Liaison: 

               - Build and maintain strong client relationships

               - Respond to client inquiries and provide payroll advice

  • Year-End Processes: 

               - Complete year-end payroll tasks, including P60s and reconciliations

  • CIS Returns: 

               - Prepare and submit accurate CIS returns

What we need from you:

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven experience in payroll processing and administration
  • Strong understanding of PAYE, NI, and other relevant legislation
  • Experience with Auto Enrolment pension schemes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CIPP) preferred but not essential
