Manufacturing & Engineering Update including the Made in Lincolnshire Launch 2018

The manufacturing sector in Greater Lincolnshire is a key and vibrant part of our economy. To support the sector and those operating within it we are delighted to be hosting the first of a series of planned manufacturing sector updates. These events aim to provide useful updates and insights into emerging trends and topical issues affecting those engaged in manufacturing and engineering.

Introduction to Industry 4.0

Industry 4.0 is too big a concept for many SMEs to take on board, but when it is broken down into ‘smaller chunks’ - for example additive manufacture, RFID, data analytics, machine learning etc. - it becomes a little more relevant, focus on practicalities and it becomes realistic.

So join us for a panel discussion and participate in a Q&A session, focusing on these practicalities and drawing from University led research and the experience of two Lincolnshire SMEs, Viking Signs Ltd represented by Managing Director Darren Joint and Autocraft Drivetrain Solutions Ltd led by parent company Co-Owner Mike Hague-Morgan.

Launch of Made in Lincolnshire Awards 2018

Made in Lincolnshire seeks to celebrate the area’s excellence in manufacturing and its well-earned reputation for innovation within the sector. It also aims to showcase the diversity and creativity of those manufacturing in Lincolnshire.

Manufacturing is a very important sector for Greater Lincolnshire based on its contribution to the UK economy. The sector delivers a direct economic value to the Greater Lincolnshire economy of £3.4billion per year and will play a significant part in the future economic growth of the region.

The launch of this year’s awards will include an introduction to the awards and the entry process as well as a presentation from Lincat, a previous winner of the ‘Made in Lincolnshire For Many Generations’ category.
