Responsibilities:

  • Full range of payroll duties including annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly payrolls.
  • Process Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC as required.
  • End of Year processing and reconciliations including end of year RTI submissions and issue of P60s.
  • Statutory payments – Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay, Shared Parental Leave, Statutory Sick Pay, PAYE and National Insurance etc.
  • Ability to process manual calculations is desirable.

The Role

  • To work closely with the directors and junior members of staff on various corporate and commercial transactional matters;
  • Lead transactions and negotiate and advise clients on a variety of matters, including share and asset disposals, management buy-outs, shareholders agreements and various commercial contracts;
  • Work alongside the directors and Streets’ marketing team and play a key role in developing and implementing the firm’s growth strategy in its chosen markets;
  • Manage your own client portfolio with the support of the directors and junior members of staff and win new clients through internal and external networking and marketing;

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years PQE;

We are looking to recruit a Tax Senior for our Northampton office.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background of tax compliance, in a Practice environment, together with up-to-date technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.  Some experience in an advisory role and/or VAT would be an advantage.

Experience is more important than qualification for this role, which requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication skills.

You will be responsible for a mixed portfolio of tax clients, including directors, self-employed individuals, HNWIs, expatriates, and some trusts. You will also be expected to identify tax planning and tax investigation issues and bring these to the attention of relevant people within the firm.
